Sam maintains the highest professional hygiene standards. All brushes, tools, and makeup products are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between clients.
Professional-grade products are carefully selected and include a range of skincare-based and hypoallergenic options wherever possible.
Clients are responsible for informing Sam of any allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or skin concerns before services commence.
While every precaution is taken, Sam cannot guarantee against allergic reactions or unforeseen skin sensitivities. By proceeding with the service, the client agrees to release Sam and any assisting artists from liability relating to allergic reactions, sensitivities, or skin-related complications resulting from cosmetic application.
HYGINENE, LYABILITY & ALLERGIES
Sam highly recommends scheduling a bridal trial approximately 1–2 months before your wedding date.
Bridal trials are conducted at Sam’s Kumeū studio on weekdays and provide an opportunity to refine your wedding day look, discuss preferences, and ensure complete confidence before your special day.
For your trial appointment, please:
• Wear a top similar in colour to your wedding gown
• Bring inspiration images
• Have your spray tan applied if you intend to wear one on the wedding day
To ensure the most natural and flawless makeup application, please avoid applying fake tan to the face.
While bridal trials are optional, they are strongly recommended. Choosing not to book a trial means Sam cannot guarantee that adjustments or significant changes can be accommodated within the wedding day schedule.
For destination brides or last-minute bookings, every effort will be made to arrange a trial close to the wedding date, subject to availability.
BRIDAL TRIALS
Sam may capture photographs and video content during appointments for portfolio, educational, and promotional purposes.
Images and video may be used across:
• Website galleries
• Social media platforms
• Marketing materials
• Industry publications
By confirming your booking, you grant permission for reasonable use of this content.
Clients who prefer complete privacy and do not wish to appear in any photo or video content must notify Sam in writing prior to paying the booking fee.
Privacy requests received after a booking has been confirmed may not be accommodated.
PHOTOGRAPHY, CONTENT & MARKETING
Sam provides all professional makeup products, tools, and equipment required for your service.
To ensure the best possible application experience, clients are required to provide:
• A clean and safe working environment
• Access to power outlets
• Adequate natural lighting
• A large table or dining table for setup
For bookings involving multiple artists, sufficient workspace must be available to comfortably accommodate the team and equipment.
Please avoid allocating bathrooms, bedrooms, low coffee tables, or dark and confined spaces for setup where possible. Hotel suites and hotel preparation spaces are generally suitable.
A bar stool or higher chair is preferred for makeup application where available.
If the working environment is deemed unsafe, unsanitary, or unsuitable for professional services, Sam reserves the right to refuse service. In such circumstances, any booking fees paid will remain non-refundable.
PETS
If pets will be present at the preparation location, please advise Sam prior to the booking. For larger or excitable animals, clients may be asked to keep them in a separate area during services for safety and comfort.
WORKSPACE REQUIREMENTS
Inspiration Images
To achieve your desired makeup look, clients are encouraged to provide inspiration photographs before the appointment. Reference images allow Sam to understand your vision and tailor the look to suit your features, style, and preferences.
Inspiration images may be emailed prior to your booking.
Skin Preparation
For best results, please arrive with:
• Clean, makeup-free skin
• Your usual moisturiser applied (without SPF where possible)
• Well-hydrated and exfoliated skin
Any allergies, sensitivities, skin conditions, or product preferences must be disclosed prior to your appointment.
A personalised wedding morning timeline and preparation guide will be emailed approximately one week before your wedding day.
WEDDING & EVENT DAY PREPARATION
Each makeup service is allocated a specific amount of time to ensure the highest quality results and a relaxed experience.
Estimated service times are as follows:
• Soft Glam Makeup: Approximately 60 minutes
• Full Glam Makeup: Approximately 90 minutes
• Bridal Makeup: Approximately 90 minutes
All makeup services include premium false lashes and a touch-up kit.
Clients are expected to arrive on time and be ready for their scheduled appointment. If a client arrives more than 15 minutes late, Sam reserves the right to shorten or cancel the service at her discretion.
A late fee of $30 per 15-minute interval may be applied where delays impact the scheduled timeline or result in services running beyond the allocated booking period.
To ensure appointments run smoothly, clients are kindly asked to minimise distractions during their service, including eating, excessive phone calls, or leaving the makeup chair unnecessarily.
These timing policies apply to all appointments, including bridal trials and special occasion bookings.
Should Sam be requested to remain beyond the agreed booking timeframe, and where scheduling permits, an additional fee of $50 per artist per 30 minutes will apply.
SERVICE DURATION & APPOINMENT TIMINGS
Sam understands that wedding timelines, particularly for cultural and traditional celebrations, may not be finalised at the time of booking.
To allow flexibility:
• Bookings commencing at 8:00am or later will not incur an early start fee.
• If the final schedule requires Sam or her assistant to begin before 8:00am, an early start fee of $50 per hour, per artist will apply.
This fee reflects the additional preparation, travel requirements, and scheduling considerations associated with early morning bookings.
EARLY START FEES
Weddings on Waiheke Island incur a travel fee starting from $380 per artist. This fee covers ferry travel, Auckland CBD parking, and travel time. Any additional island transport costs, including taxis or private transfers, are the responsibility of the client.
WAIHEKE ISLAND WEDDINGS
As a mobile makeup artist, Sam travels directly to your location to provide a convenient and stress-free experience. Travel fees are calculated based on the distance, travel time, vehicle expenses, parking costs, and the transportation, setup, and pack-down of professional makeup equipment.
A minimum travel fee of $50 applies to all mobile bookings, regardless of proximity to Kumeū, Auckland.
To receive an accurate travel quote, please provide the full preparation address when enquiring. Should the service location change after the quote has been issued or the booking fee has been paid, travel charges may be adjusted accordingly.
For bridal trials and single special occasion bookings, clients are welcome to attend Sam’s private studio in Kumeū, Auckland, where no travel fee applies.
For non-wedding mobile bookings, a minimum of three services is required. Bookings that do not meet this requirement may be accommodated from Sam’s studio location.
TRAVEL & MOBILE SERVICE FEE
Sam reserves the right to update, amend, or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
By proceeding with a booking and payment of the booking fee, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
POLICY UPDATES
For special occasion group bookings, the remaining balance is due on the day of the event via bank transfer or cash as a single payment.
The person who secures the booking and pays the booking fee accepts responsibility for ensuring the full balance is paid.
FINAL PAYMENT RESPONSABILITY
WEDDING BOOKINGS
The 20% booking fee is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of cancellation, postponement, change of date, or change of mind.
In the unlikely event that Sam is unable to fulfil the booking due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances beyond her control, every effort will be made to arrange a trusted and suitably qualified replacement artist.
Should the Client choose not to proceed with the replacement artist, all monies paid to Sam, including the booking fee, will be refunded in full.
SPECIAL OCCASION BOOKINGS
For special occasion bookings, cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment time, or failure to attend the appointment, will result in forfeiture of the booking fee.
Booking fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to future appointments.
CANCELLATIONS, POSTPONEMENTS & CHANGES
During peak wedding season (October through April, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays), Sam requires a minimum booking of five (5) makeup services for wedding bookings.
Bookings that do not meet this minimum may be accepted at Sam’s preference, subject to availability.
MINIMUM BOOKING REQUIREMENT
For weddings requiring services across multiple dates, all reserved dates will be secured upon receipt of the booking fee.
Should any reserved date subsequently be cancelled, the booking fee will remain non-refundable and non-transferable, as those dates have been held exclusively for the Client and made unavailable to other bookings.
MULTI-DAY WEDDING BOOKINGS
Bookings are accepted based on the total number of services outlined in the original quotation.
Once a booking has been confirmed, the total number of services cannot be reduced. While the individuals receiving the services may be substituted, the Client remains responsible for payment of the total number of services originally agreed upon and invoiced.
MINIMUM SERVICE COMMITMENT
Should additional services be required, the Client must notify Sam as soon as reasonably possible.
While every effort will be made to accommodate additional requests, all services are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Sam reserves the right to decline any additional services that were not included in the original quote or agreed upon prior to the event date.
Where a service or date is listed as TBC (To Be Confirmed) within the quote, Sam will endeavour to accommodate the request; however, confirmation remains subject to availability.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES & AMMENDMENTS
For wedding bookings or group bookings consisting of five (5) or more services, Sam offers full-day exclusivity. This means no additional bookings will be accepted on the same date, allowing Sam to dedicate her time, attention, and expertise exclusively to you and your bridal party.
This ensures a relaxed and seamless experience, with flexibility to accommodate your wedding morning schedule and any unforeseen timing adjustments.

All quotes provided by Sam are personalised and remain valid for seven (7) days from the date of issue.
To secure a wedding booking, a 20% non-refundable and non-transferable booking fee is required. A booking is not considered confirmed until the booking fee has been received and cleared in the nominated account. Upon confirmation, Sam will reserve your event date exclusively and decline any further enquiries for that date.
For special occasion bookings or smaller bookings with fewer services, a 10% non-refundable booking fee may be required to secure the appointment.
By paying the booking fee, the Client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
For bookings made within 14 days of the event date, full payment may be required at the time of booking.
The remaining balance for wedding bookings will be invoiced approximately four (4) weeks prior to the wedding date and must be paid in full no later than seven (7) days before the event.
